Discovery Center Outdoor Camps will get you MOVING and THINKING! Not only will you explore natural Florida with new friends, our weekly quests for adventure will engage all of your senses to discover the great outdoors from a scientist’s mindset. Through active environments, fun experiments, amazing challenges, exclusive access to research facilities, and group tours with field specialists, Discovery Center Staff will strive to keep your tweens active, captivated, safe, and informed.
Weekly parent newsletters detailing field trips and daily themes/topics will be distributed for each camp week the week before it begins.
Come prepared to be ACTIVE, work TOGETHER, and have FUN!
NOTE: Cancellations made beyond 14 days of the first day of the camp week will qualify for a full refund less the one-time $25.00 Registration Fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations within 14 days of the camp week.

Camp Dates & Themes
Week 1 (June 5 – June 9)
Theme: Game of Life
Growing up does not have to be so scary! Come build life skills that will help you make sense of finances, relationships with family and friends, and even yourself.
Week 2 (June 12 – June 16)
Theme: What’s the Buzz with Bugs?
Are you fascinated or disgusted by crickets, cockroaches, and all things creepy crawly? Step into an entomologist’s shoes and learn all about these important creatures that amaze, scare, and even help us.
Week 3 (June 19 – June 23)
Theme: Pet Hospital
From the largest horses to the smallest bugs, each pet we own impacts our lives. Some pets even help our community as a whole. Come learn what makes each pet tick and what to do when a pet is bitten by one!
Week 4 (June 26 – June 30)
Theme: Are You Afraid of the Woods?
If you were dropped off in a remote location, could you survive using only your surroundings? Come learn how to build shelter, make a fire, find edible plants, and use your knowledge to conquer the fear of the wild and unknown.

Week 5 (July 10 – July 14)
Theme: Rivers of Time
Forty million years ago, Florida was completely underwater. To this day, water continues to shape and mold Florida’s environment, creating the world’s most unique habitats and creatures. Come explore some of these habitats and learn about why Florida’s water is so important.
Week 6 (July 17 – July 21)
Theme: Weird Florida
Florida is a strange and wonderful place. Dive into the world of Floridian myths and legends and use science to explain or debunk them. From extraordinary people to our very own breed of Big Foot, these weird legends will keep you guessing!
