A one-time registration fee of $25 is required.
Join us for this adventure-packed camp! Each week campers will be immersed in a different theme. Multiple weekly field trips, hands-on educational activities, physical challenges, and guest speakers galore. Expand your mind while creating memories with new friends!
Weekly parent newsletters detailing field trips and daily themes/topics will be distributed for each camp week the week before it begins.

NOTE: Cancellations made beyond 14 days of the first day of the camp week will qualify for a full refund less the one-time $25.00 Registration Fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations within 14 days of the camp week.

Camp Dates & Themes
Week 1 (May 30 – June 2)
Theme: Code Breakers
Spies, Super heroes, Soldiers, and regular people – everyone uses codes. Decode mysterious bar codes that are everywhere. Construct a telegraph. Make a cipher. Read ancient Hieroglyphics, and use what you’ve learned on a mysterious adventure through the beautiful Silver Springs Park.
Week 2 (June 5 – June 9)
Theme: Shark Tank
Do you have what it takes to survive the shark tank? Polish your professional skills, Create a product, pitch your idea, make your product and try to outsell your neighbor, while learning about budgeting and what it takes to have a successful business (and have fun).
Week 3 (June 12 – June 16)
Theme: Pocket Monsters
Do you want to be the very best? Pokemon has made monsters popular again! Let’s use these magical make-believe creatures and their universe to inspire a look a Taxonomy, Evolution, Ecosystems and GAMES in our universe. What part and piece of our real world inspired the monsters of Pokemon? To solve the mystery is your cause!
Week 4 (June 19 – June 23)
Theme: Bacteria, Blood Pressure, Bandages, and Biology
I need a hero! Do you want to be the “go to person” in a crisis? Can you bandage your battered Teddy Bear? Learn the basics of healthcare and medicine. Step into a health professional’s shoes and run a make believe emergency room. Leave the week with some skills that could save a life.
Week 5 (June 26 – June 30)
Theme: Fabulous Fractals and Awesome Art
Fractals are SMART – Science math and art. Fractal patterns are everywhere in nature – and are even used in movie special effects. Explore the world of fractals and play with the repeating nature of patterns in art.
Week 6 (July 3 – July 7)
NO CAMP JULY 4th
Theme: CSI – Forensics and data analysis
Police line – DO NOT CROSS. How do the professionals solve crimes? Let’s look at the science behind the tell-tale clues left behind after a dastardly deed. Develop powers of observation that will make Sherlock Jealous! Blood, fingerprints, handwriting, fibers, DNA…….and the list goes on!
Week 7 (July 10 – July 14)
Theme: Sweet & Savory
Where does chocolate come from and how does it go from bitter bean to luscious bar? What’s the buzz on bees? Why do we need them and what do they do? Spices come from all over the world – lets find them! How do your taste buds work? Can we fool them? Come enjoy a week of sweet science.
Week 8 (July 17 – July 21)
Theme: Science Around the World
Raid & Pillage knowledge with the Vikings! The world travelers will be our guides to learn about fascinating finds in the desert, the power of water, unique items in far off lands – and we’ll learn to play the Viking game: hnfetafl.
Week 9 (July 24 – July 28)
Theme: Magical Critters
Attend the Discovery Center’s own magical school. Take classes to learn about hidden pockets of magic in the Muggle World. Oh, and play some Quidditch too!
