Born and raised in Chicago, Susan earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Northwestern University. After 28 years as an educator in Illinois, South Carolina and Minnesota, she and her husband, Glen, moved from the frozen north to the warm sun of Florida upon Glen’s retirement from the military. In addition to teaching in grades 3 -9, Susan has conducted training for teachers nationwide, spoken at state and national mathematics conferences, and written lesson materials that have been published by the Iditarod Trail Committee.
Besides her passion for working with students, Susan enjoys travel, beaches, motorcycle trips with Glen, a variety of hobbies from pets to music to crafts, and she loves spending time with her family – especially her granddaughter. She is delighted to have the opportunity to inspire, and be inspired by the students at the Discovery Center.
