Parents’ Night Out
Starting in January 2012!
First Friday of Each Month
6:30pm – 9:30pm
Ages 6-12 years.
Drop the kids off for a night of scientific and theatrical entertainment! Kids will take part in games and activities based on the movie of the night. Kids will bring their pillows and we provide the popcorn!

Ocala’s Chocolate & Confections
January 6 – Explore a fossil dig, make fossil molds and imprints, and dig in the “cookie” before we watch a movie about prehistoric orphans on the adventure of their lives: “Land Before Time”.
February 3 – Discover the ins and outs of owl pellets! We’ll laugh out loud as we watch Hoot: the movie based on Carl Hiaasen’s novel about a young man who moves to Florida from Montana and engages in a fight to protect a population of endangered owls.
March 2 – It’s FLUBBER with Robin Williams! Before the movie we’ll dive into the world of Polymer Science. It’ll be oozes galore as we create our own slime from secret recipes and experiment with ingredients and ratios.
April 6 – If your best friend was an alien what would he/she look like? You’ll create your own alien, explore the starry night, and then enjoy Steven Spielberg’s masterpiece E.T. : The Extra Terrestrial.
May 4- Dive into adventure and get a close up look at some of the critters that live in Tuscawilla Pond. Build a water filtration device, learn about the differences between tap water and pond water through experimentation, and then settle down to visit with some familiar ocean buddies in the movie Finding Nemo!
Cost: $15.00 per participant includes snacks. Limited to 25 registered participants.
