Melissa Townsend, Discovery Center Assistant, and her dog, Misty.

Melissa recently relocated back to her hometown of Ocala, FL and is honored to be part of the Discovery Center team.    She grew up just a few blocks from Tuscawilla Park and is excited by the City of Ocala’s goals to revitalize the park and surrounding neighborhood.   One of her favorite job benefits is working in an environment full of children’s laughter.   When not administering cultural arts programs at the Discovery Center, Melissa is actively pursuing one of her passions:   historic home renovations, photography, horseback riding, or exploring the Florida outdoors.

Melissa and her paint horse, Barbo, enjoy competiting at obstacle challenges and exploring the Florida trails.
