It Starts In Parks Student Photography Contest

ATTENTION STUDENT PHOTOGRAPHERS!!!  The Discovery Center has partnered with the North Central Florida Photography Club and community stakeholders to bring to Marion County students the It Starts In Parks Student Photography Contest.   All Marion County students, grades 6-12 are invited to participate.    All images submitted must be captured in a city, county, state, or nationally managed park that is located within Marion County, FL.    We have awards galore including a on location shoot with Emmy award winning photographer, Mark Emery on an exclusive Marion County property where wildlife abounds!   Get Outdoors and Start Shooting!  Contest period is from March 1 thru May 15, 2012.

IMPORTANT DATES:

March 1 – Contest Opens

March 3, 2012,  Saturday  - 9:30am – 11:30am  FREE Workshop for Contest Participants provided by the North Central Florida Camera Club at the Discovery Center – Click Here and  Register Now!  (not mandatory)

May 7 – May 15, 2012 – Submissions must ARRIVE at the Discovery Center either in person or by mail.   Deadline is May 15, 2012 at 5PM.

June 1, 2012 – 6pm -7pm  Reception, Judges Critique, and Awards Ceremony at the Discovery Center for participants and family members.
