David Schlenker

In Dave’s Words:

 My name is Dave Schlenker, and I am the founder, photographer and sole employee of CorgiPhoto.  Marion County, Fla. has been my hometown since 1978.

 First and foremost, I am a husband and father who adores taking photos. Quite simply, my specialty is taking portraits of things I love: family, music, pets and the unexpected moments that shake out every time a camera is raised. My mission is to convey the fun I have behind the camera to the action in front of it. I love to capture joy, laughter, spontaneous slices of life and images that will make the grandparents melt. 

 I named the business after our family dog, a Pembroke Corgi named Abigail Tube Sox Schlenker. The breed is known for many things, but what matters most to our family is her loyalty and unabashed sense of fun. This, essentially, is my business model; I want to establish long-term customer relationships, and I want people to have a good time in front of the camera.

 For 20 years, I have been a newspaper writer, editor and humor columnist in Ocala and Gainesville, Fla. More recently, I also have been a student at the Southeast Center for Photographic Studies at Daytona State College. I remain enchanted with the power and relationship of words and images.
